Step into prehistoric times at Tell Yunatsite—Europe’s oldest known civilization! This site yielded some of the earliest gold artifacts ever discovered, even predating the famed Varna necropolis. Here, you will be part of groundbreaking discoveries that continue to rewrite what we know about the ancient European civilization.
Or join us at Apollonia Pontica - one of the oldest ancient Greek settlements on the Black Sea coast where excavations continue in one of the many necropolises of the city.
Take part in our project at Stobi —the capital of the Roman province Macedonia Secunda—where you will dive into hands-on excavation among breathtaking ruins, like the mosaic-filled Theodosian Palace, the temple of Isis and many more. Or sign up for the Ancient Greeks in the Land of Dionysos program, uncovering the remains of Emporion Pistiros, a significant Greek trade hub in Thrace. As the only identified emporion in the region, Pistiros is a historical goldmine offering insights into the political, economic, and cultural fabric of the interaction between the ancient Greek merchants and the Thracian Odrysian kingdom.
Our Underwater Archaeology program in ancient Mesambria on the Black Sea coast, is your chance to explore the submerged remnants of fortification walls, staircases, and gates from the pre-Roman era to the Middle Ages. Imagine yourself diving into history, discovering ruins that have remained hidden for centuries.
