Two Decades of Archaeological Research in Apollonia Pontica (Sozopol, Bulgaria)   


Presented at the 112th Annual Meeting of Archaeological Institute of America in Philadelphia on January 5-8, 2012   

The BHFS affiliated archaeologist Margarit Damyanov (PhD in Archaeology), National Institute of Archaeology with Museum, BAS has uploaded on academia.edu the paper "Two Decades of Archaeological Research in Apollonia Pontica (Sozopol, Bulgaria)" about the results of long-term investigations in present-day Sozopol under the direction of Ass. Prof Krastina Panayotova (PhD in Archaeology), National Institute of Archaeology with Museum, BAS with the participation of the author, Teodora Bogdanova and other archaeologists. It was presented at the 112th Annual Meeting of American Archaeological Institute in Philadelphia on 5-8 January, 2012.   

   

Since 2011 Sozopol and Apollonia Pontica excavation team have hosted the Balkan Heritage Field School project on the Sveti Kirik Island where once used to be the temenos of the ancient city.
