We are delighted to share the good news that the Balkan Heritage Foundation and its partner institution National Institute of Stobi have been awarded with a grant of 100,000 USD by the J.M. Kaplan Fund for the creation of a Master Conservation Plan for the archaeological site of Stobi in North Macedonia.
The Roman and Late Roman city of Stobi is one of the most spectacular and best preserved sites in North Macedonia. It has been excavated intermittently over the last 100 years by different research teams, most recently by NI Stobi and BHF. The Master Conservation Plan will address various issues for the site’s sustainable preservation, excavations, management and presentation and will serve as a guide for the team of NI Stobi.
